FREE

RANGE

ENTERPRISES

(un)LTD

When I resigned from full-time employment after 35 years in the art world, my daughter Sarah suggested I was going ‘free range’.  I took to the term.  All in one, it suggests a breadth of activity, a new set of adventures, and a brand!

So Free Range Enterprises was created: a small business, a banner, a vehicle for taking on projects which interest me, the foundations of an exciting new enterprise.

A play on the terms quickly developed in my mind and it suits me and the small range of collateral I’m using: FREE RANGE ENTERPRISES (un)LTD – shorter in emails for everyone’s ease.  Of course, the company is Ltd in legal terms, but I prefer to think of it as unlimited.

Projects which interest me are likely to related to art galleries, museums and collections – or to be linked more generally to the cultural sector.  Projects Free Range takes on are also likely to be funded (I’ve done a heap of fund-raising in my time and it’s an inevitable distraction from my main interests).

But let’s not be too restrictive at this stage.  I can head up or down the country or around the world in any direction; I can talk, lecture, write, interview and mentor.  I can work alone or bring in other associates – and help find funding if really necessary!
